PragPub Magazine February Issue

The February issue of PragPub is now available, and packed with good articles.

Michael Bevilacqua-Linn is winding down his popular series on the Clojure language. In what may be the penultimate article in the series, he delves into Clojure sequences. Rooted in the linked lists of ancient Lisp, they offer far more power and flexibility.

Aaron Bedra has been focusing a lot of his attention lately on how to battle intruders in web app space. He has both some advice and a tool that can save you a lot of grief in dealing with the bad guys.

Joshua Smith checks in with an engaging article on Core Data. You won’t think about this Apple technology the same way after you’ve read it.

Plus: Choice Bits, Rothman and Lester on managing the managers, editor Michael Swaine on thirty years of Macintosh, Seb Rose on the First Lego League, and John Shade on dumb data. Something for everyone this month.

And one thing more.

PragPub is running a series of articles all this year on teaching kids to code. We think the topic is important and we want the articles to get the widest possible readership, so Mike decided to also publish them separately from the regular issues of the magazine in which they appear. He is gathering them up and releasing them as a special issue of PragPub totally dedicated to teaching kids to code.

And giving it away for free.

Trouble is, the special issue won’t be complete until all the articles are published, a year from now. Mike wanted to get it out there right now, and have it promote the idea of teaching kids to code all year. He didn’t want to wait.

So he didn’t.

The special issue of PragPub on teaching kids to code is available right now, and will be updated with new articles all year long. You can download the first and subsequent iterations of it via Mike's website (http://theprosegarden.com) and you can sign up (webmaster@swaine.com) to get a ping whenever new content is added.
