Frankly, this is an announcement I thought I'd never make.
Bruce and Sophie started work on this book six years and two weeks ago. I've lost count of the number of rewrites as they've tracked the changes in both Elixir and in LiveView during that time. They'd come close to finishing a draft, and then some feature would get overhauled and they'd have to go back and update the text and replace screenshots. I don't know if I'd have had the patience.
But now, Phoenix has hit 1.0, and this book is at the printer!
And it was worth the wait. There is no more up-to-date guide to Phoenix. There's also no better introduction for new Phoenix developers. This isn't a "copy this code" book. Instead, you'll build a Phoenix application step by step. Each example shows what’s happening, why it works, and how to use it in your own code.
By the end, you'll be writing highly interactive LiveView apps, and you'll truly understand how they work and how you can work with them.
I've been using Elixir and LiveView for years, and I learned a lot from this book. I absolutely recommend it.
